Introduction
The Natural History Museum was opened to the public
in August 1987. Housed in the old German Boma, the museum
is the repository of Tanzania’s
rich natural heritage
Objectives of the national natural history museum is to provide
facilities for natural science research, storage and exhibition and
forms an important tourist attraction in the northern tourist circuit
Currently there are two permanent exhibition halls, human evolution
and entomology. Occasionally temporary exhibitions
are organized at the museum. The museum also harbours a well kept
café run
by Via Via club
